Lynda Chapell - VP Finance & Administration
Lynda has accumulated over 25 years experience in the temporary personnel placement business since leaving school in 1980. During those years she crossed paths with Lubo Mazurkiewicz on a couple of occasions. While working for the same placement agency, Lynda and Lubo decided to find a third partner and open their own personnel business in July of 1998. Lynda's focus at A-1 is on managing administrative matters relating to A-1's business and ensuring that financial matters are dealt with promptly.

Lubo Mazurkiewicz - VP Sales & Marketing
Lubo arrived from Poland in 1977. After a few years of competitive cycling, he began a career in the Temporary Personnel Placement Industry, placing drivers, labourers, skilled, semi-skilled, and office personnel with clients. Always more of a true entrepreneur, Lubo joined forces with Lynda Chapell and Gunther Wagner and A-1 Personnel Resources Inc. was born. Lubo's focus at A-1 is to help build a skilled and successful sales organization and to ensure that client satisfaction is always the primary objective of A-1.

Derek Kearney - Operations Manager
Derek is a graduate of the marketing program of Humber College. Although always interested in sales, Derek completed his first 7 years in the Temporary Personnel Placement Industry as dispatcher and later as dispatch supervisor, making certain that the needs of clients were met. In late October 2004 Derek joined A-1 in a sales capacity. With his extensive background in the dispatch-side of the business, Derek was quickly promoted to the position of Operations Manager, and given the additional responsibilities of managing the crucial sales support function provided by A-1’s job coordinators. Derek’s main focus is on expanding A-1’s impressive list of satisfied clients, while ensuring that the service level provided to all of A-1’s clients remains second to none.

John Allingham - Staffing Manager
Always interested in working with people, John graduated from High School and immediately enrolled in a 3-year program at Sheridan College to obtain his Diploma in Human Resources. After graduation he worked in the temporary personnel placement industry for a year before joining A-1 as Staffing Coordinator in April of 2001. During the following five years John developed a terrific rapport with A-1’s clients and workforce. At night school, he completed the academic requirement for the ‘Canadian Human Resource Professional’ (CHRP) designation. In mid-2006 John was promoted to Staffing Manager, accountable for managing the day-to-day activities of A-1’s staffing coordinators. John enjoys being able to help clients solve their temporary personnel staffing needs while at the same time addressing the needs of people looking for employment.

Henry Di Girolamo - Driver Training, H&S Compliance
Henry Di Girolamo is our Driver Training and Heath & Safety Compliance specialist. With a background in driving and fleet management, Henry’s qualifications are formidable, with THSAO certificates in a number of areas including: Fleet Driver Training, Hazard Prevention, Workplace Inspection and Hazard Recognition, The Occupational Health & Safety Act and Federal Supervisors’ & Managers’ Health & Safety Training. Henry’s qualifications and capabilities are invaluable to A-1’s current and prospective clients and make A-1 one of the very few industrial personnel agencies in the GTA offering this level of capability vis a vis driver training, certification and screening.

Verica Burdzovic - Accountant
Verica graduated from University of Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, majoring in accounting and finance. After Verica and her family immigrated to Canada, she continued her career in accounting in the retail and in the branding and design industry. She is actively enrolled in the CGA program and is expected to obtain her CGA designation in the near future. Verica joined A-1 in January 2004 as accountant. Verica is accountable for all financial functions at A-1, including the generation of financial reports, the application of financial controls, and the timely meeting of regulatory requirements. She enjoys assisting others in operations and management, working with A-1’s team to meet the needs of clients and shareholders.
